How much does it cost to fix a dripping air conditioner in Benidorm?
It's nearly always a drain blocked by dirt or algae, and clearing it costs €60–100 including VAT in Benidorm. If the cause is a failed condensate pump or a badly sloped pipe, the fix costs a little more, and we tell you first. In the meantime, switch the unit off and put a bucket underneath.

Why it drips
Most often it's a drain blocked with dirt or algae, especially on units that aren't cleaned. It can also be a failed condensate pump, a cracked tray, a pipe with no fall or filters so dirty that the coil freezes and then pours.
What to do while you wait
Switch the unit off, put a towel or bucket underneath and, if you can, send us a short video on WhatsApp. That usually tells us what's wrong before we arrive.
The fix
We clear and clean the drain, check the fall, replace the pump if needed and leave the unit clean so it doesn't happen again. If water from the outdoor unit is landing on the street or a neighbour's terrace, we reroute that too.
How to stop it dripping again
Wash the filters monthly in summer, have a full clean once a year with an antibacterial tablet in the tray, and check the drain hose isn't squashed or running uphill anywhere. In flats left closed for months, a clean before the season prevents most July drips.
Where we fit
We're a good fit if you're seeing water where it shouldn't be. If the unit is also cooling poorly, it may be low on gas: see gas recharge.
Frequently asked questions
Is a dripping air conditioner dangerous?
Water near sockets and appliances isn't a good idea. Switch it off until we've checked it.
Why does it only drip when it's very hot?
In heat and humidity the unit produces far more water; if the drain is half blocked, it can't keep up.
Is water dripping from the outdoor unit normal?
In heating mode the outdoor unit releases water, and that's normal. Water landing on the terrace below isn't, and a drain pipe sorts it.
What is a condensate pump?
A small pump that removes the water when the drain can't run downhill, common in inside rooms. If it fails or clogs, water overflows from the indoor unit; it's cleaned or replaced in a single visit.
